Frequently Asked Questions

Is there a free trial available?

Yes, all new clients receive the first 10 pages free so you can see my work and decide if you are interested in pursuing a further working relationship.

Which software are you using?

I am trained on and use the Case CATalyst system. I offer scoping to full audio, and realteam. I also use For The Record, Express Scribe, and VLC Audio Player. I am well versed in Microsoft Office programs and PDF style.

What are your rates?

Rates will vary based on a variety of factors. These include the size of the document, complexity of the material, with/without audio, services rendered, etc. Up-rates will be applied for faster turnaround or rush jobs. Scoping, transcription, proofreading, and editing services all require different rates which can be discussed prior to job acceptance.

How does billing work?

Invoices are sent out every Friday with completed jobs and payment is expected within 7-14 days. I have more information on this within my Billing and Payment page as well.

How does it work to get started?

If you found me from here, welcome! Go to the contact page and submit your inquiry and a preference form will be sent out. Once the preference form is completed, a call will be had to discuss any specificities. Then, you send your document and audio (full or trial pages as requested) and the Next Step in your new working relationship begins! Which reference sources do you use?

Primarily, I use Lillian Morson’s English Guide for Court Reporters (LMEG), Merriam-Webster’s online dictionary, and any preferences you as the client have provided. Also, as a Secondary reference source, I use Margie Wakeman Wells’ Bad Grammar/Good Punctuation (BGGP), The Gregg Reference Manual, and extensive internet research.
